Studies show that horses increase the effectiveness and sustainability of your personal development.

Horses are exceptionally sensitive to the emotions of others and interpret the most subtle signals in facial expressions and body language – this is part of their survival strategy as a flight and herd animal. 

They only trust their survival to the one who is credible, who leads authentically and congruently – then 600kg will follow without force in any threatening situation.

Exactly these special abilities of horses I use in coaching and training – the horse becomes a mirror of your personality. You discover how to inspire your team so that you can effectively master your challenges together. After all, you can’t force your team to do anything either.

Classic management is outdated

Our modern working world is too complex and fast-moving to be mastered by the manager alone. The knowledge and competencies of a single person are not sufficient to make the best decision at the necessary speed. Chains of command and decision making across all hierarchies take too long. By the time a decision is made and executed, conditions have long since changed again. 

Classic command & control management methods from the days of assembly line work – such as target setting and bonus systems – are no longer effective in our VUCA world. This is because long-term agreed goals, extensive sets of rules and work organization by the management level hinder the necessary dynamics. Without personal initiative and motivation, only by following orders from outside, today’s complexity of work cannot be mastered. 

Even more important: With the VUCA world also comes a change in the culture of our society. People today no longer want to be managed, but rather led at eye level. They want to be valued for themselves and their work, career is no longer the top priority – especially for Generation Z. People choose which manager they want to work for. Due to the skills shortage they have anytime the option of leaving the team and the company.

 – Because VUCA doesn’t offer those, leadership must be lived differently today –

  • Consistent products, customers, competitors

    In order to organize tasks and activities through clear sets of rules and process specifications, the necessary workflows must be 100% reproducible. Due to the volatility this is this is no longer possible.

  • Long-term forecasts & planning

    In order to be able to control the company via target agreements and work allocation, management must be able to draw up long-term plans from its own experience. Due to the Uncertainty this is no longer possible.

  • Few controlled facts

    In order to be able to make decisions at the management level alone, they must be aware of all the facts that affect the company. Due to the complexity this is no longer possible.

  • Clear cause and effect

    In order to be able to compare the (individual) performance of employees in an individual bonus system and measure it on the basis of statistics, it must be clearly recognizable which actions have led to which results. Due to the ambiguity this is no longer possible
